Andrea Delgiudice

Andrea DelGiudice is an internationally known opera singer whose career has spanned the globe. She has been featured as a leading Soprano in major European opera houses in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

She starred as Madame Butterfly with the Scottish National Opera, touring throughout England, Ireland and Scotland. Andrea's portrayal of Madame Butterfly was been hailed Òa Cio-Cio-San of superb quality, a soprano of great flight and daring with a voice of astonishing power and subtlety,Ó by the Newcastle Journal in England.

Her success in Europe led to Miss DelGiudice's sought-after portrayal of ÒMadame ButterflyÓ with the Austin, Texas, Lyric Opera, the Edmonton, Canada, Opera, as well as RAI I Italian Television. Andrea's diverse talents also led to numerous recording contracts with Walt Disney Pictures, dubbing Italian musical soundtracks for nearly fifty major Disney films and animated features in Rome, Italy.

In returning to the United States, Miss DelGiudice has dedicated her wealth of knowledge and performance experience to teaching young singers. In addition to vitally important technical teaching, Andrea places great emphasis on the performance aspect of a student's development.

To that end, she formed Opera Allegra, a community-based opera company that is currently in residence at Massasoit Community College. Along with Master Classes and newly developed music courses, Miss DelGiudice has given students and community members the opportunity to be part of a professional-level company and to experience a wealth of material not often available at a community college level.

Through public performances, lectures, fundraisers and with enthusiastic support from community leaders such as the Mayor of Brockton and the President of Massasoit Community College, Andrea is striving to realize her dream of bringing the richness of opera to people of all ages in this community.
